New measurements show that radiation levels in the primary matcha growing regions of Aichi, Kyoto and Shizouka prefectures indicate that the measurable levels of radiation in these areas are indeed very low. While initially I saw some data pointing to higher levels of radiation in Kyoto than in other matcha growing regions, after consulting with numerous experts and receiving very insightful comments on my last post, I now want to clarify, that I am not in anyway concerned about radiation levels in any of the primary matcha growing regions of Japan. I would personally still highly recommend organic matcha, such as our Living Qi organic matcha, which we monitor regularly.
